Smarter Budgeting and Stronger Contract Management
We’ve shipped a set of improvements that make planning your spend easier and managing contracts faster, clearer, and more actionable.
What’s new in Budget
Renamed: Budget Tracker → Budget
- Cleaner, simpler naming across the app and sidebar.
Monthly Plans (overall and per category)
- Set a monthly plan for total spend and optionally for each category.
- Values are persisted, so your plans are there every time you return.
Auto‑fill from category limits
- Per‑category plan inputs now prefill from each category’s Monthly Budget Limit.
- If no saved overall plan exists for the month, the overall plan auto‑sums these category limits.
Variance with visual status
- See Planned, Actual, and Variance (amount and %) at a glance.
- Clear status indicates whether you’re on track or over plan.
Helpful guidance
- Added concise helper text and callouts explaining how to set plans and how variance is calculated.
- Quick actions: “Auto‑fill from Category limits” and “Set Overall = sum of categories.”
Improved Planner layout
- Cash‑Flow Planner moved to the bottom so planning and variance stay front and center.
- Keep using the 30/60/90‑day window and “What‑if” slider to stress‑test your spending.
What’s new in Contracts
Better filtering without refreshes
- Type‑ahead filters no longer trigger page reloads.
- New filters for “Responsible Person” and “Party Name,” plus quick “Ending in 90/60/30 days.”
Responsible Person, visible
- New “Responsible Person” column in the Contracts table for instant visibility and sorting.
Clearer contract details
- “Effective Date” is now “Contract date,” and “Expiry Date” is “Valid until.”
- “Classification” is now “Category” to match the rest of the app.
Click‑through cards
- In grid view, the entire contract tile is now clickable to open details (buttons still work independently).
Invoices on contracts (with PDFs)
- Add invoices to a contract with amount, VAT, date, and expense name.
- Upload PDF attachments and view them directly.
Stability and accessibility
- Fixed excessive network refetching when switching tabs.
- Addressed dialog accessibility warnings and a Radix ref issue.
- Contract limit display remains correct while filtering (uses your actual total, not filtered results).

Getting started
- Go to Budget → set your month, auto‑fill category plans, and Save Plan.
- Head to Contracts → filter by Responsible Person or Party Name, or scan “Ending in” ranges to triage renewals.
- Open any contract → add invoices and attach/view PDFs.
